A chill in the air

A very cold day, with a heavy frost first thing, but no snow. It’s about 3 deg C. Last year?

No complaints….

…. last year, and certainly none this year either!

A beautiful start to the day, and if you look closely – there is even the hint of blossom on the apple tree. Spring is springing!

It’s official!

Winter is over!

I’m sure this little visitor is delighted with the news!

Last year we saw something that is now hidden from our eyes…..

Well, it’s grey, but no rain

The tree just stands firm

But a close look at the pear tree reveals that the blossom is hiding itself from the frost!  This is what it was like last year on this date.

We woke to a glorious blue sky. It may not last, but here’s the proof!

Today is Good Friday, and astoundingly the recycling bins were emptied this morning. Not ours, it isn’t yet full enough for emptying. Looking back at last year everything was much more advanced. No sign of blossom so far this year.

Almost a spring day

Such a relief! Another good start to the day. So good to see the sun

Still cold, but….

Yes, sunshine! However, cold doesn’t even touch the spot! It’s BITTERLY cold!

Grey skies…

… nothing but grey skies!

and still a touch of snow on the shed roof!

Now, last year…….  and it’s still SOOO COOOOLD!

Just for a minute…

… it looked as though it was going to get brighter

but it didn’t last, and that snow is persistently sticking to the shed roofs.

We were travelling last year, but the weather was glorious all over the country.

Yuk
